STRIPS: A New Approach to the Application of Theorem Proving to Problem Solving
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a new problem solver called STRIPS that attempts to find a sequence o f operators in a spcce o f world models to transform a given initial world model into a model in which a given goal formula can be proven to be true. STRIPS represents a world n,~del as an arbitrary collection o f first-order predicate calculus formulas and is designed to work with .models consisting o f large numbers o f formulas. It employs a resolution theorem prover to answer questions o f particular models and uses means-ends analysis to guide it to the desired goal-satisfying model. DESCRIFIIVE TERMS Problem solving, theorem proving, robot planning, heuristic search.

Presentation and Solving Non-Linear Quad-Level Programming Problem Utilizing a Heuristic Approach Based on Taylor Theorem
The multi-level programming problems are attractive for many researchers because of their application in several areas such as economic, traffic, finance, management, transportation, information technology, engineering and so on. It has been proven that even the general bi-level programming problem is an NP-hard problem, so the multi-level problems are practical and complicated problems therefo...
متن کاملApplication of Convolution of Daubechies Wavelet in Solving 3D Microscale DPL Problem
In this work, the triple convolution of Daubechies wavelet is used to solve the three dimensional (3D) microscale Dual Phase Lag (DPL) problem. Also, numerical solution of 3D time-dependent initial-boundary value problems of a microscopic heat equation is presented. To generate a 3D wavelet we used the triple convolution of a one dimensional wavelet. Using convolution we get a scaling function ...
متن کاملSolving a bi-objective location routing problem by a NSGA-II combined with clustering approach: application in waste collection problem
It is observed that the separated design of location for depots and routing for servicing customers often reach a suboptimal solution. So, solving location and routing problem simultaneously could achieve better results. In this paper, waste collection problem is considered with regard to economic and societal objective functions. A non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is used to l...
متن کاملA short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
